WORK EXPERIENCE:

Direct Care Staff, Dove Vocational Youth Academy, 2009-2010, Graceville, Florida.

Provide a safe and secure environment for youth and staff. Ensured care, custody and control of youth at all times.

Performed correct visual head counts at the beginning and end of each shift; insuring constant sight and sound supervision.

Supervised youths to and from all assigned areas on and off site to insure the safety and security of the facility, staff and youths as well as ensuring correct ratio to staff to youth.


Correctional Officer, Walton Correctional Institutional, 2006-2008, DeFuniak Springs, Florida

Care custody and control of male offenders in an Institutionalized setting
Monitor offenders while on work detail
Write reports in clear, concise and complete form
Utilize two-way radios
Inspect doors, locks, and bars to insure the safety of the Facility and to insure the safety of offenders
Conduct formal and informal counts throughout the day and giving accurate counts
Roving perimeter to insure ensure safety of the Facility, offenders and staff while armed with a handgun and a shotgun
Check beds and personal property for contraband
Document legibly all pertinent information in a logbook
Become familiar with Dept of Corrections Policies and procedures/Rules and Regulations
