Free-Resume-Formats That Can
Be Yours for the Asking!
Free Resume Formats are mainly
written within one of two formats:
Chronological and Functional
Chronological Resumes are the most common. They emphasize job history and are appropriate when you have had steady employment or your career has shown consistent progress.
Functional free-resume-formats --on the other hand-- emphasize skills acquired over the years in various positions. Your Functional free-resume-formats does not (typically) detail the specific tasks performed with each employer.
Submit your resume for review and critique. Let the eResumes4Vips public add suggestions. **NOTE: delete your address, telephone, and email from your resume header to protect your privacy.**

Choosing between Chronological and Functional
When choosing between the two free-resume-formats you should compare your experience to the requirements for the new job. Often times, you will want to create both free-resume-formats and use them with different prospective employers.
As a general rule, consider the traditional chronological free-resume-formats first. It is the most common, and employers expect this particular format. However, you may want to use a functional free-resume-formats in the following cases:
When you've had long periods of unemployment. {A functional free-resume-formats can make these periods less visible.}
When you've held positions which are not consistent with your future career goal.
When the new position requires skills that you acquired with several different employers.
Remember that the two free-resume-formats can be intermixed. Some experts refer to this format as a Combination Resume Format.
You may start a chronological free-resume-formats with a Highlights section which lists your key qualifications. Or, you may write a functional free-resume-formats and add a few lines under each position you held.
Your free-resume-formats may also include any of the following sections:
Languages
Personal
Publications
Training
Curriculum Vitae (not typically used in the U.S.)
